Under Bed Cage Add-on

Description

Have your bed picked out? Now is the time to add some fun! From a cage to under bed storage, you can make use of the space if you have picked one of the higher bed platform options. Choose a full sized cage, or half cage and half storage – the options are almost endless!

Note that if you purchased a custom bed size that differs from our 4 main sizes, the plans MUST be modified to properly fit your bed. If that is the case, PLEASE LET US KNOW when ordering to ensure all the parts are compatible.

• The Standard 11″ of height gives you a tiny bit of room, it’s tight, but usable (that’s what she said).
• The Raised bed height of 18″ is nice and cozy.
• The Crawlspace option gives you 24″ of room and is the recommended option, as it doesn’t leave your bed excessively high.
• But, there’s one in every crowd who loves a high working surface, and we added the Extra High option just for them! This makes the bed surface quite high, but also leaves 30″ of room underneath the bed. It also raises the bed surface up to waist height, which gives the feeling of standing beside a operating table or countertop.

Custom Colors are available on request and will generally increase delivery times. Basic colors are available in anodized finishes, and endless colors are available by powder coating.

The full package includes the following items, delivered to your door:

• all structural members needed to ADD to an existing bed – THIS ITEM IS INCOMPLETE WITHOUT A BED PLAYGROUND SYSTEM
• all fasteners, hinges, handles and latches needed to assemble and attach the add-on to a bed system
• one 6mm plexiglass window for the door (does not include any other panels)
• all tools needed to assemble the add-on (2 each – 6mm hex ball-end hand operated t-handle driver)
• detailed assembly instructions (printable PDF)
• live chat support during purchase and setup

Items that you will have to build or purchase separately (not included with purchase):

• Cage Walls
  • the cage walls can be made from a wide variety of materials that are easy to obtain locally. Rather than try and guess what each person wants, we decided to let you source those on your own.
  • Most commonly used are metal woven 10mm mesh, plexiglass, and solid wood panels (see How to: Adding a Headboard, Footboard, Cladding and Upholstery for ideas). Have an idea of what you’d like? Send us a message and we may be able to get you a quote.
• Drawers and Drawer Slides
  • with the different options for drawers, we also decided this was best to be sourced yourself. Any carpenter can build them to the shape and size you desire.
  • The storage unit provides the frame with adjustable posts on both sides to connect to the drawer slides. All you need to do is add the drawer and drawer slides.
• Movable Anchor Points for cage – identical to those used with the bed
  • movable/fixed metal loops ~$20-40 (see How to: Movable Bolted Anchor Points for more ideas)
  • movable slings ~$40-50 (see How to: Webbing Slings for Custom Suspension for more ideas)

Shipping Notes

Shipping is billed separately and is based on availability in your area. Because of the unique nature and the varying size of these packages, we will determine the shipping costs prior to sending the order for manufacturing. Once we have determined the best shipping price/options (usually ~$150USD combined within North America), we will contact you to confirm the shipping price prior to moving forward. After you have approved and paid any applicable shipping charges, we will move forward with processing the order. Delivery time is approx. 2-3 weeks from the order date.

If an agreeable shipping arrangement cannot be made, a full refund will be processed.
